Davido Opens Up About Passing of Son
AfroBeats megastar Davido is opening up about the passing of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, who drowned in a swimming pool last year while the star and his partner were away. Recently, while promoting the release of his new albumTimeless, Davido took a moment to reflect on the creation of the project while grieving the tragic loss of the toddler.
“Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I really had to calm myself down and take a step back,” he said in a statement to CNN. “At some point, I couldn’t open my Instagram for weeks. One day, I just checked it and I saw messages from every kind of person in the world. I was like, ‘you’re fine, you see everybody is rooting for you.’ That was one thing that really made me strong enough to stand up again, get back in the studio and do what I love.”
FX’s Snowfall Spin Off in Development
As reported by Deadline, a spinoff of FX’s hit show Snowfall is currently in development. Now in its last season, Gail Bean—who played Wanda in the series— is rumored to be the lead in the spin-off. The series would follow the evolution of Los Angeles through the crack epidemic and into its famed gangsta rap era in the 90s.
