In the spirit of Black History Month, earlier this month, Northwestern Mutual held its Community Conversations event at Ginny’s Supper Club at Red Rooster in Harlem. The brunch was centered on how the Black community can acquire generational wealth with proper financial guidance.
Community Conversations embodies Northwestern Mutual’s efforts to “extend the conversation surrounding the topic of closing the racial wealth gap and bring the company’s unique value proposition to the community, through financial education, guidance and support.”
While listening to the Rakiem Walker Project’s live sounds, attendees networked while enjoying a delicious spread of food and cocktails. A primary highlight of the event was the Q&A panel which featured a wide array of experts specializing in business and real estate. The panelists included were Anthony Williams, director of Growth and Development at Northwestern Mutual; Nikoa Evans, co-founder, Strategy & Business Development at Harlem Festival of Culture; Karl Franz Williams, owner of Uncle Waithley’s Beverage Company; and Katrell Lewis, 67 Orange Street and Principal at Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies.
