The American Black Film Festival kicked off its 27th-year last night in Miami Beach at the New World Center. During the opening night, attendees got the chance to take in a screening on Netflix’s upcoming film They Cloned Tyrone.

Starring John Boyega, Teyonna Parris and Jamie Foxx, They Cloned Tyrone merges tenets of blaxploitation and sci-fi to evolve into a creepy governmental conspiracy theory. The three go on an unexpected journey to track down the root of this eerie plot and get to the bottom of what nefarious forces have in mind. J. Alphonse Nicholson, Brian Tyree Henry and David Alan Grier also star in the film which is set to air on the streaming platform on July 14, 2023.

Boyega and Parris hit the carpet alongside the film’s director Juel Taylor and producers Charles D. King, Stephen “Dr.” Love, Tony Rettenmaier, and Datari Turner. True to the theme and spirit of the film, Boyega and his fellow “clones” wore multiple looks throughout the night.
