The first trailer for ‘The Color Purple’ was released today and has gone viral. The upcoming film is filled with stars including Fantasia, ‘The little mermaid’ Halle Bailey, Taraji P. Henson, H.E.R.
The film is directed by Blitz Bazawule. Oprah Winfrey is listed as a producer along with Quincy Jones, Scott Sanders and Steven Spielberg. Last year, a video clip of Oprah praising Fantasia’s performance as ‘Celie’ on Broadway. In addition to the star-studded line up Fatima Robinson served a choreographer for the film with costume design by Francine Jamison-Tanchuck
The Color Purple is scheduled to be released on Christmas, December 25th. Check out the trailer below:
