Actor Isaiah Washington Believes That His “Best Teachers and Neighbors” Were KKK Members
Actor Isaiah Washington knows how to make a provocative statement. In a recent social media post reflecting on his experience with racism, Washington stated his belief that some of his “best teachers and neighbors” had been members of the Klu Klux Klan, a historic hate group. He reposted the post with the original caption after it was initially removed.
“I had some of the best elementary school teachers and even some neighbors that I knew were Klan Members back in Texas while growing up. I knew where They stood with me and They also knew where I stood with Them. The boundaries were very, very clear and I still played with Their kids., I just couldn’t drink from Their outside water hose or come inside Their house to eat.”

Investors of Adidas are suing the brand over their alleged knowledge of Kanye West’s bad behavior leading to a failed partnership between the two entities last year due to his anti-semitic rants.. The lawsuit states, “In the Personnel Risk section of the 2018 Report’s discussion of risk, the Company extolled its commitment to having an equitable workplace, and its strategic workforce management process, known as ‘People Strategy,’ while failing to discuss how it routinely ignored extreme behavior from Kanye West.”
Kevin Durant Signs Lifetime Deal With Nike
In rare news, basketball star Kevin Durant signed a lifetime deal with Nike. Durant is now the third NBA player—Michael Jordan and LeBron James ere the other two—to sign a lifetime deal with the brand.
In an interview with his media company Boardroom, the Phoenix Suns player shared, “When I first signed with Nike, I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership. We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically. We’ve traveled the world together and built a business that will now last forever…I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal.”
Heavy D Honored With Sculpture in Mount Vernon
The late rapper Heavy D has been honored with a sculpture in Mount Vernon, New York where he was raised. The artwork is titled “Peaceful Journey,” inspired by one of his songs and was sculpted by Brooklyn artist Eto Otitgbe. In a quote to ABC 7 NY, Heavy D’s mother Euhlalee Myers shared, “My son loved the arts and this sculpture and this sculpture depicts the love that he have especially for the city of Mount Vernon.” The sculpture is located at 42 Broad Street in Mount Vernon.
