We had a time Friday night!

After 63 years and thousands of issues, JET printed its last magazine in 2014, with a special commemorative final issue. But the iconic publication is back in real life for people to buy, hold, indulge and admire once again with a limited collectors edition, while supplies last.

So, what was the occasion? Who is so dope to bring JET back? The one-and-only CEO and founder of Slutty Vegan, Pinky Cole. JET and Cole have combined forces to create a limited-edition legacy issue, titled “Pinky Is the New Black.”

To celebrate the new issue, JET and Cole came together to host a party at Bar Vegan in Atlanta, and we had a time!

DJ Melly Mel had the hits playing and the drinks were flowing courtesy of Hennessy. Some of Atlanta’s finest were in attendance, including Kenny Burns, Tameka Foster, Tracy Wilson Mourning, Rashan Ali and Consuella Williams, to name a few. We caught up with Williams and she had nothing but love for Pinky.

“It was beautiful to witness the full manifestation of Pinky Cole’s incredible mind—her ideas and dreams. I’ve been hearing about Pinky for the past few years, but to meet her and to see who she is as a powerful woman in so many facets of life and business. What she’s created and continues to raise the bar has been awe-inspiring,” shared Williams.

The issue was fully curated by and features all things Pinky Cole, including an in-depth profile on her family, her favorite vegan recipes, tips from her hair stylist and so much more. It looks amazing and feels so good to have a JET magazine in your hands again.

We spoke with JET President, Daylon A. Goff about the new issue,

“I met Pinky at a concert backstage nine months ago and she was telling me that she always had a dream of being JET Beauty of the Week and how the magazine had such an impact on her life. We haven’t printed an issue in several years but we just saw Pinky and everything that she stands for as an opportunity to do something special,” said Goff. “We’re really proud of this collector’s legacy issue and can’t wait for people to get their hands on it.”

The issue is out today. Get your copy at Slutty Vegan, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, Rite Aid, Kroger, Publix, Wegmans, Harris Teeter and Albertsons.
