The new trailer for director Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film has dropped and fans of the beloved doll are living for the nostalgia.
The film follows Barbie—played by Margot Robbie—after being exiled from Barbieland and her journey to finding new adventure and ways of living in the human world.
We’re especially excited because a few of our Black Hollywood faves are making an appearance. Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ncuti Gatwa were revealed as being different renditions of Barbie and Ken in this diverse Barbie-verse. On social media, each were shown as having their own personifications of the two iconic dolls.

Fans have expressed a great deal of excitement and hype over the perceived campiness and commitment to the tenets of Barbie shown in the trailer. From classic fashion and enthusiastic behavior, this film is pulling out all the stops to become one of the highly anticipated films of the upcoming summer.
