Gangsta Boo’s Mother Sadly Reveals She’s Lost Her Husband, Son and Now Daughter Following Rapper’s Passing

Gangsta Boo’s family is still mourning her loss, but her mother Veronica Mitchell reveals how she has been finding peace with it all. According to a recent statement released by Boo’s mom, Gangsta Boo is not alone in heaven as she has been rejoined with her father and brother.

Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, known professionally as Gangsta Boo, was born on August 7th 1979. The Memphis, TN native became a popular voice in hip-hop after finding fame with the group Three 6 Mafia. She was discovered by DJ Paul and collaborated with the group over five albums until label issues lead her to pursue a solo career. She went on to release three solo albums between 1998 and 2003 and lend her voice to a number of other signature records from the likes of Run The Jewels, GloRilla, Jucy J, and JunglePussy.

On New Year’s Day, Gangsta Boo and her brother were coming home from a concert when they decided to indulge in substances. The pair reportedly passed out, but her brother recovered while Gangsta Boo did not. She unfortunately passed at the scene. At the time, her mother took to social media to thank everyone for their support of her family and the outpouring of love. “The Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Lola ‘Gangsta Boo’ Mitchell.” Gangsta Boo was only 43.

Gangsta Boo is survived by her partner and Marriage Boot Camp co-star Emmet Flores who is honoring her with a new clothing line. The proceeds of the sales will go towards her mother, with 10% being used to help students at Stax Music Academy in Memphis. All sales will be made through Boo’s website QueenofMemphis.com.

Mrs. Mitchelle co-signed the line and revealed that the loss of Lola coincides with the deaths of her husband and son as well. “My baby is loved by people everywhere, and it all started at home with us. That’s so amazing to me. It makes me smile ear to ear. God brought her home to be with her daddy Cedric and her brother Derron.” Boo’s mom admits that while she misses her daughter, she is happy she is with her father and brother.
