Big Sean is learning that firsthand as he says goodbye to his aunt shortly after the birth of his first child with Jhene Aiko. The Detroit rapper took to his IG story to honor her life and talk about the duality of losing someone while celebrating a new baby.
Big Sean and Jhene Aiko have been courting each other for the better part of the last decade. While they’ve both dated other people, the pair’s undeniable chemistry was always on display in their various collaborations. They’ve made things official in recent years and took an extended break before deciding to take their love to the next level. They welcomed their first child together in November, a boy named Noah. Both Sean and Jhene took to IG with their separate posts about his arrival.
Jhene said, “✨11/08/22✨💙Noah Hasani💙 after 24 hours of labor, a total lunar eclipse, and while it was pouring rain… he came 🥹 my baby Yoda, my Sani 💙.” Sean said, “he’s here safe and sound. Happy, Healthy, and everything we could ever ask for and more. Any and everything for you, Son. 💙Noah💙.” The happy couple has been showing off their bundle of joy in different family shots, including one at thanksgiving of Sean holding him in a black suit jacket in front of art inspired by his single “One Man Can Change the World.” “First holiday with my big boy Noah,” he said.
Noah was able to meet his great-aunt Vi before she passed this week. Big Sean took to IG to celebrate her as she transitioned at the age of 94. “My baby was born last month, and now my Aunt Vi has made her beautiful transition. I stayed at her house first time I came to visit LA from Detroit when I was 7.” He went on to call her a “strong, beautiful, heroic, kind, smart, giving woman.”
“Her impact and presence changed our family forever. We love you,” he concluded the post—our condolences to his family.
