Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion‘s trial is set to begin on Monday, December 12, 2022. Lanez seems to not be too happy with the way things are going after being hit with a third charge. The hot-headed rapper took to Twitter with a message for fans before leaving the platform. By now, we all know the story or at least the most consistent parts. After a party at Kylie Jenner’s home, some type of altercation occurred in a vehicle with Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez, and Meg’s friend Kelsey Nicole. Meg sustained foot injuries and claimed Tory Lanez discharged a weapon in the vehicle and told her to “dance” while aiming fire at her feet. Lanez says he is not guilty. Intially, the R&B singer was only charged with two charges. Yesterday a third charge was released. Tory might maintain his innocence, but his track record since the incident has not been making him look great. This includes a recent altercation with singer August Alsina which left him injuried.
Lanez also has a history of run-ins with Love & Hip-Hop Miami star Prince that recently got settled. Lanez is said to Prince twice and punched him in the face, with Prince posting photos of his swollen mug. Lanez attorney Kadisha Phelps recently revealed that they struck a plea deal with Prince in order to have the case removed from court calendars. It’s important to also note that Phelps just came on board after Lanez’s previous lawyers stepped away due to “irreconcilable differences.” In a statement, Phelps confirmed, “a settlement has already been reached between the parties and [Lanez] has tendered funds to [Prince] in consummation of their agreement.”
With Prince’s case settled, Lanez and his team can focus solely on the case with Megan. They have reportedly asked for Kylie Jenner and Cory Gamble to testify, while key witness Kelsey Nicole has also been asked to take the stand. Megan has maintained she is telling the truth and has a lot of support, while many feel that Lanez might actually take the fall for this and serve some hard time behind bars.
