During his defamation trial, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones testified that he believes Sandy Hook was “100% real,” despite years of spreading lies on his show InfoWars.

Jones is on trial for a lawsuit brought by families of Sandy Hook victims for hoax claims pushed by Jones for years on his platforms. The families testified that Jones’ lies have led to years of abuse by him and his followers, violence from strangers, and even death threats.

Earlier this year, gun manufacturer Remington, which filed for bankruptcy, settled with the families of nine victims for $73 million after a wrongful death lawsuit was filed. The $73 million was the full amount of coverage available from Remington’s four insurers, signifying they may have thought they’d lose the lawsuit and pay substantially more if they went to court.

On Tuesday, the Judge in Jones’ defamation trial admonished the show host for lying multiple times under oath.

“You are already under oath to tell the truth and you have violated that oath twice today,” Judge Maya Gamble told Jones.

On Wednesday the proceeding became even more wild, when an attorney for the Sandy Hook families revealed that Jones’ lawyer sent his entire cell phone texting history to them by mistake.

The lawyer followed that revelation by asking Jones “you know what perjury is right?”

Both sides rested their case by lunch Wednesday afternoon, with closing arguments expected after lunch.

The families filed a $150 million defamation lawsuit against Jones, saying an apology from him would not be good enough.

“I am a mother first and foremost and I know you are a father. My son existed,” Lewis said to Jones. “I am not deep state…I know you know that…And yet you’re going to leave this courthouse and say it again on your show,” said Scarlett Lewis, a mother of a Sandy Hook victim.
