Van Jones brought to tears as Joe Biden wins US election

CNN political commentator Van Jones was recently on the network reacting to the news that Joe Biden has been announced as the winner of the presidential election. Once Jones started to talk what a Biden victory means to America, he started to get emotional and broke down in tears.

“It’s easier to be a parent this morning, it’s easier to be a dad,” Jones said. “It’s easier to tell your kids character matters. It matters. Tell them the truth matters. Being a good person matters.”

Jones was emotional throughout his comments, referring to being able to inform young people you can be president without lying as President Donald Trump has done during his time as president.

Jones also spoke about how immigrants have been negatively treated and spoken about by Trump and his administration. Jones conveyed relief that such behavior may no longer be an issue under a Biden presidency.

“And it’s easier for a lot of people. If you’re Muslim in this country, you don’t have to worry if the president doesn’t want you here. If you’re an immigrant, you don’t have to worry about your babies being snatched away or send DREAMers back for no reason. It’s vindication for a lot of people who have really suffered,” said Jones.
