Finally! It appears a Coronavirus vaccine that will change the world is within reach.
Pfizer just released data showing they’ve developed a vaccine that is more than 90% effective in preventing Coronavirus infections. Although it’s preliminary, that level of protection equals the effectiveness of the measles vaccine – consequently eradicating it.
Dr. Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, called the results a “great day for science and humanity.” With an impressive trial size of 43,538 participants – among which were 94 confirmed Coronavirus cases, it’s quite easy to see why.
For you to be protected against COVID-19, you’d need 2 doses of the vaccine. The protection kicks in 28 days after the initial dose have been taken. Pfizer says by year’s end it should have enough doses to immunize 15 million to 20 million people. The Operation Warp Speed folks have promised Pfizer nearly $2 billion to deliver 100 million doses to Americans free of charge.
The news couldn’t have come fast enough as 1.2 million people worldwide have died from Coronavirus – 240,000 in the U.S. alone.
