This year has been a doozy and it seems as if Halloween 2020 is going to be a wash, as far as parties and trick-o-treating go. But dressing up and wearing your costume can be done on your own, without risk of breaking quarantine, and that’s what most of the celebs seem to be finding solace in.
While technically, Halloween isn’t a holiday that can be canceled by the government, many are considering it as such due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most states aren’t allowing large groups to congregate but the Internet has already revealed a treasure trove of original ways that people are keeping their Halloween safe.
According to the CDC, small outdoor gatherings where individuals can remain six feet apart while wearing face masks while they trick-or-treat. The CDC also says one-way trick-or-treating (where goodie bags are lined up at the edge of a driveway) hold lower risk than regular trick-or-treating.
Visiting pumpkin patches or orchards with masks and hand sanitizer fall in this category, as well as well-designed outdoor mazes or haunted “forests” where people can remain 6-feet apart. The CDC makes a special note on any activity where screaming is expected: “The greater the distance, the lower the risk of spreading a respiratory virus.”
But you don’t have to worry about that when you’re a celeb.
Fans have been delighted with their favorite’s choice of costumes. This year’s crop even had some celebrities impersonating other celebrities, looking almost identical to those who they were channeling. There were some scares and some princesses but what did your favorite wear?
Ciara and young Future killed it, with CiCi channeling Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy album cover — with her son standing in for Offset.
Rapper Saweetie recreated the iconic Destiny’s Child cover for their single “Bootylicious,” which featured 3 Saweetie’s where Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle’s faces used to be.
She also recreated the iconic video, too, AND dressed up as RuPaul. Saweetie’s Halloween budget was astronomical, clearly.
Kim Kardashian West and her good friend Jonathan Chebon channeled Netflix’s The Tiger King, with Kim playing Carole Baskin and North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm West cosplaying as their wild cats.
Tiffany Haddish is still rocking her short cut, and recreated the Pain Ohio Players album cover, which featured model Pat Evans’ iconic look.
Kylie Jenner and her gal pals +1 dressed up as the iconic Power Rangers, with their team costume clearly requiring a lot of planning and a lot of styling, but they looked amazing.
