‘I Had To Remind 50 Cent He Was Black’: Chelsea Handler Tells Rapper He Can’t Vote Trump Because He’s Black, Says She’s Willing to Pay His Taxes

50 Cent is finally worried about ‘writing a check that his mouth can’t cash’ but Chelsea Handler has proffered her bag as a financial backstop so to speak.

Last week, while watching a CNBC infographic about the tax implications for residents of different states under a hypothetical Joe Biden presidential victory, the rapper and actor legally named Curtis Jackson made a somewhat controversial (even for his standards) Instagram post, a written endorsement of the incumbent Republican President Donald Trump.

The post included a photo of a TV screen showing the graphic, which listed Top Tax Rates for California at 62.6%, New Jersey at 58%, New York State at 60%, and New York City at 62%. In his written words, “…I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f*ckin minds…”

The unfailing wit of comedienne-actress-show host Chelsea Handler came in to seize the moment. She sub-tweeted Curtis as follows, “Hey f*cker! I will gladly pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses. Happily! Black Lives Matter. That’s you, f*cker! Remember?” The always game Fiddy responded, “…Oh my God this is effecting my love life now. @chelseahandler I love ya Gator, don’t let Trump and Joe Biden come between us girl. #starzgettheapp”. Not to be outdone, Handler retorted, “You used to be my favorite ex-boyfriend.”

Chelsea wasn’t done with Jackson, whom she did date periodically in 2010. On a virtual interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, she offered a bit more to the vaunted talk show host, “He says he doesn’t want to pay 62% in taxes, which – by the way – isn’t a plan of Joe Biden’s…that’s a lie. So he doesn’t want to pay 62% in taxes because he doesn’t wanna go from being ‘50 Cent’ to ‘20 Cent.’ And I had to remind him that he was a Black person, and he shouldn’t be influencing an entire swath of people who might listen to him because he’s worried about his own personal pocket book I haven’t heard from him yet, but I might be willing to ‘seal the deal’ in more ways than one if he changes his mind and publicly denounces Donald Trump. I might be willing to go for another spin, if you know what I’m talking about.”

Fallon appeared to find it all to be funny.

However, just as Biden himself quipped “…You ain’t black” on the Breakfast Club earlier this year, Handler’s questioning and assertions of Fifty’s blackness as an external arbiter rubbed many the wrong way. Some cited her history with off-color jokes about race that have aged poorly in the perspective of burgeoning consciousness.

Additionally, talk of the “condescending white liberal” came from both sides of political aisle with dismissive commentary from the adamantly pro-Black Tariq Nasheed and conservative America’s favorite black woman, Candice Owens.

Maybe just how much Fiddy loves Handler’s ‘gator ’ is the 22nd question. Jackson appears to be following the election, as he as made several posts on Instagram about both candidates. There’s something to be said to the persona of Donald Trump that attracts successful men from Hip-Hop. There’s a lot in common honestly: power, money, boasting, and control and domination of one’s opponents, have been thematic staples of the genre for decades.
