Cardi B’s been a mother hen when it comes to her child Kulture since the moment she was born. The Invasion of Privacy rapper seemingly tried very hard in the beginning to protect her newborn daughter that she shares with husband Offset. They’ve been criticized for lavishing the 2-year old with extravagant gifts but Cardi wishes more than likely that she could do even more.
Despite initial concerns about posting their child on social media, clearly the couple has acquiesced, as Kulture is featured often on their respective Instagram accounts – eventually getting one of her own, now totaling over 1 million followers of her own. Cardi told Harper’s Bazaar previously that “we were very concerned because we were getting a lot of threats, so he [Offset] said, ‘The world don’t even deserve to see her.’”
Hollywood Unlocked captured a now-deleted Twitter thread in which Cardi B immediately flew into protective mode after a random troll attacked her daughter – even though the commenter did not tag Cardi in her post, probably knowing better. Doesn’t mean she didn’t get caught.
In the original tweet, they claimed “Kulture not the cutest soooooo”, to which Cardi responded “My daughter is very much the cutest so sit down with your overgrown gums. That’s a fake tweet. Dumb b— play with your mother or in traffic don’t play with mines.” Clapback, indeed.
Kulture, for the most part, seems to be totally opposite from her mother. Cardi recently posted a video in which, using her signature voice, Cardi calls out to Kulture over and over. When Cardi gets closer to Kulture, she can be seen just watching her iPad and ignoring her mother’s voice, while sucking on a pacifier, unbothered. Cardi just looks at the camera before walking away and it shuts off, sharing a moment that other mothers can probably relate to.
Cardi later shared that Kulture was being a ham for the camera. “And guess who made me get out the shower, thirty minutes later after this live with soap on me just to tuck her in and cuddle her to sleep? Yes Miss Kulture,” Cardi said.
Despite the fact that her and husband Offset are playing a yo-yo game with their marriage status, even Cardi admits that part of the reason she loves Offset so much is that he gives her gifts – even including his daughter in the gifts he gives to his wife. Offset gifted her with a Rolls Royce truck worth $330,000 for her birthday, along with a car seat that had their daughter’s name embossed in the headrest.
Cardi thinks that daughter Kulture is that missing piece she’s been waiting for.
“It’s like, oh my Gosh, should’ve had you when I was a teenager. That’s what I was missing my whole life? I love you,” she told Jimmy Kimmel in 2018 when she appeared on the late-night talker.
Cardi loves being a mom and it’s been the joy of her life so far, it seems, despite the problems her and her husband have had in the public eye.
“The happiness that my baby brought me, it’s just like, I could do this over and over again!”
