White Florida Teacher Reassigned After Telling Her Students She Has a ‘Right to Dislike Blacks’

A Florida teacher has been temporarily removed from her teaching position after an investigation by the Osceola School District. The investigation comes after the teacher was recorded using racially charged language.  The Poinciana High School social studies teacher has been identified as Tracey Brown has now been reassigned and no longer able to interact with students after she was captured on video saying she has the right to “dislike Blacks” during a virtual class session on Oct. 12.

Brown told a story of when she was a teen riding a train to Atlanta she was attacked by people using the “language of Blacks.”

“I have as much right as anybody else to dislike Blacks for what happened to me,” she said.

The video was later shared to social media and was posted on Tuesday to the school’s “Let’s Talk” platform, which is  a space for students and parents to ask questions while the world faces the global health pandemic.

The school responded immediately once they were made aware of a second video in which Brown expressed criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement. In the second video, Brown said the movement implies that “black lives matter more than anyone else.”

“You’ve never had to go through that struggle, but there are some Black people that live in communities where the cops do not treat them right, do you understand?” a student asked, during the discussion. One student who’s name hasn’t been released told WFTV News, about what led up to Brown’s comments. He stated the discussion started initially about the Constitution and the amendments.
