Ice Cube explains working with Trump on plan for Black Americans

In a few tweets, Ice Cube cleared the meeting with the Trump administration wasn’t a endorsement, but rather an discussion about his  Contract With Black America, a series of policies to address racial inequality and police reform. The entertainer noted that he hasn’t endorsed a presidential candidate.

“Black progress is a bipartisan issue. When we created the Contract With Black America we (expected) to talk to both sides of the (aisle).  Talking truth to power is part of the process,” he tweeted Thursday. “I will advise anybody on the planet who has the power to help Black Americans close the enormous wealth gap.”

The rapper said both Democratic and Republican leaders reached out to him about his plan. However, Democrats asked to speak about his initiative after the election, Ice Cube said, while the Trump administration made “adjustments” to the Platinum Plan after speaking to him. As of now, its unclear what changes were actually made according to CBS News.

“I don’t trust none of them,” Ice Cube said in a video posted to Twitter. “No president has done right by us so I don’t trust none of them. So putting our hopes and dreams behind any of them just don’t work, we got to make them do what we want them to do and there’s only a few ways to do that.”
