The soon to be ex-wife of Dr.Dre is now being investigated for embezzlement by the Los Angeles Police Department. The department is looking into a claim that Nicole Young, 50, stole money from her husband’s Record One recording studios twice. One time taking out over $350,000 from the company’s business account in August.
Young alleged she was entitled to the money since she was a trustee of the account. However, Larry Chatman co-founder of Record One says that Young was taken off the account after she took out the first withdrawal. Therefore, she isn’t entitled to the money.
According to a letter obtained TMZ last month accused Young of “decimating” the company’s bank account and attached a copy of the check she wrote. The accused Young of “blatant and unjustifiable criminal embezzlement of corporate funds.”
However, Young’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ the investigation is a public relation stunt.
“There is no question that Nicole had both the contractual and the legal right to have taken this action, and Andre’s team is well aware of this fact,” Freedman said. “Any suggestion she did something untoward is preposterous and pathetic.”
