Former NBA player Delonte West will now be getting the help he needs. A video showed West asking for money at a Dallas gas station and, with the help of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, he has been admitted to a facility for treatment.
Cuban personally went to the gas station to pick up West and took him to a local hotel. Later convincing him to get help. Now he’s seeking treatment at a facility in Florida. NBA reporter Shams Charania reported when Cuban reached out to West’s mother to ask how he could help, his mother, Delphina Addison said, “Find Delonte.” The writer also said according to sources, West is going through a “very difficult personal struggle.”
In the past West has been open about his mental illness. In a 2014 video by Vice Sports, West discusses his struggles with bipolar disorder.”
In the video, Delonte West says, “I was told I have an emotional problem or something like that.”
