Congratulations are in order for singer / actor Usher Raymond IV and his music executive girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea! The couple welcomed their first child together, a girl today. Usher shared the happy news himself, posting a photo on Instagram of his hand being clutched by the tiny newborn’s fist.
“We are feeling blessed and full of love with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond,” the singer captioned. “‘Isn’t She lovely’ by Stevie Wonder on repeat.”
Usher and Jennifer have reportedly been dating since October of last year after they were seen hanging out at the Hollywood Bowl.
Although the cute photo has just emerged, People confirmed the infant’s birth date as September 24th.
The happy news comes just a few weeks after it was revealed the couple were expecting. Sovereign is Goicoechea’s first child and Usher’s third. He shares sons Usher V, 12, and Naviyd, 11, with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
In addition to celebrating his new bundle of joy, Usher announced recently that he’s heading back out to perform with his new headlining Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The highly anticipated show is set to open in July of 2021. Usher says he “can’t wait”:
“Since I was 21 years old, I’ve really anticipated getting to go to Vegas and play the shows the way that they did in the early days,” he confessed to Rolling Stone. “The vibe of Las Vegas is everything on steroids — the best clubs, the best shows, the best food, all of it. To finally be able to get this opportunity, to share myself and also to share my history with my audience, I can’t wait for it.”
