New Development Reveals That At Least One Police Officer Involved In Breonna Taylor’s Death Was Wearing A Body Cam—Police Previously Said That No Body Cams Were Worn

#Roommates, although it’s been several months since she was tragically killed while asleep in bed, no arrests have been made in the death of Breonna Taylor—but a new development could hopefully change things. It was recently discovered that at least one officer involved in her death was wearing a body cam, despite the local police department previously saying that none were used.

@TMZ_TV reports, as the country continues to advocate for #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor, there is still no movement in her case to officially arrest the officers responsible. However, a surprising new development has been uncovered that could possibly reveal footage from the night she was shot and killed. New details state that at least one of the officers who raided her home appears to have been wearing a body cam, which directly contradicts the police department’s earlier statements that there was no body cam video of the shooting available.

Officer Tony James was recently seen in a photo in full police gear…wearing a body cam. The photo is in direct opposition to the police chief, who previously said the officers involved in Breonna Taylor’s death work in divisions that don’t require body cams. Additionally, if the body cam was working during the time of the shooting, it could be the critical piece of evidence to determine exactly what happened inside Breonna’s home.

As we previously reported, on March 13th Breonna Taylor was shot multiple times in a police raid while she was sleeping after police came to execute a search warrant involving her ex-boyfriend.

Police knocked her door down to gain entry and Breonna’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker fired a warning shot from inside.  Walker says police never identified themselves before they began shooting, but they say they did.

After Walker’s shot hit one of the officers, they shot 35 rounds, killing Breonna. When the police report was written, the officers claimed that she was not injured during the raid. Since then, local and national activists have demanded that the officers responsible be arrested and charged for their part in her death, but it has yet to happen.
