It looks Nene Leakes isn’t planning on leaving “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” anytime soon.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, Leakes’ good friend talk show host Wendy Williams claimed that the “RHOA” actress texted her in the morning and said she was leaving the show’s amid its current season.
“I took a break between commercials, my office is right there behind the set. I had to go to the bathroom and so I looked at my phone between commercials. And Nene texts, I’m quitting,” Williams vented to her special guest Jerry O’Connell on her show.
Leakes later said on Instagram, “Sometimes our biggest blessings are wrapped up in a goodbye,” and seemingly confirmed her friend’s claims.
Nene Leakes. @neneleakes/InstagramHowever, moments later Leakes seemingly backpedaled on her indications and uploaded a photo of herself with the caption, “WHO SAID DAT!?!?! #SMH”
Her rep also seemingly confirmed the “RHOA” veteran wasn’t leaving the show, telling TooFab, “It’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for Nene, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence. Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season.”
Leakes started off as an original cast member of the Bravo series in 2008, but left the show after season 8. She returned full time to “RHOA” for season 10 and has remained on the show since.
Williams feels Leakes should stay on the show and use the platform for a secret she’s supposedly hiding.

Following Leakes and Williams’ recent crossed signals, “RHOA” fans have had mixed reactions.

“She’s in her feelings because they are barely showing her this season. I called cap. She started the atl branch. She’d be a fool to leave.”
“Not again at this rate Lanethia can leave. She wants everyone to bow down to her anyway.”
