The 21-year-old Clark Atlanta University student who went missing for a week has been found dead, the media reports.

Alexis Crawford’s body was found in a park in DeKalb County in suburban Atlanta after police were led there by one of the two suspects, Atlanta Police chief Erika Shields said.

The two main suspects are Crawford’s roommates. According to CNN, authorities have arrested 21-year-old Barron Brantley, and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Jordyn Jones, on suspicion of murder. The two reportedly were the last people to see the Clark Atlanta University student alive on Oct. 30. Crawford’s family reported her missing two days later.

“Jordyn had been Alexis’ friend and roommate. While a motive has not been clearly established, the department did take a police report from Alexis Crawford on Oct. 27, and this is a few days prior to her being reported missing,” Shields said during a press conference. “In this report, Alexis described unwanted kissing and touching from Barron Brantley … The case has come to one of the saddest conclusions possible and has been absolutely heartbreaking … To Alexis’ family, our hearts go out to you. I am so truly sorry that we could not provide you with a better ending.”

CNN reports that the medical examiner stated Crawford’s cause of death was asphyxiation.

No clear motive had been determined at the time of this report.

CAU President Dr. George French delivered this message in light of this tragedy.
