The 8 Best Nigerian Songs of the Month (August)

The results aren’t by coincidence. Apart from Nasty C’s undeniable talent and large fanbase, the rapper has the backing of Universal Music Group and Def Jam Recordings. In the last few months, Nasty C has been trending. The rapper‘s impressive rollout included a string of singles and music videos, a series of murals across the globe (South Africa, Kenya, Japan, New York etc.), and conversation around him embracing his identity more than he ever has.

Zulu Man With Some Power comes with Nasty C’s first all-Zulu verse in the song “Zulu Man”. He pays homage to his father, with whom he hasn’t always had a great relationship with, in the song “Ababulali”, which samples a prison standard song and a standard church hymn.

Features on Zulu Man With Some Power include US superstars Ari Lennox and T.I., and his frequent collaborators Tellaman and Rowlene. Lil Gotit, Lil Skeed appear on the trap anthem “Bookoo Bucks” which is produced by ATL Jacobs (you may know him if you listen to Future).

Zulu Man With Some Power is a follow-up to Nasty C’s 2018 album Strings and Bling, which followed his debut Bad Hair. Nasty C has been extending his footprint across the globe, with the US showing him more love than any other country outside of South Africa.
