HBCU Graduate Faces Criticism After Posing For Butt-Naked Photo On Campus

Florida A&M University graduate 24-year-old Terica Williams, went viral recently after she posted a photo of herself in her naked in front of the university’s “Rattler” mascot statue.

Williams’ photo showed her only in gold, pumps and her hairstyle of cascading snakes, which seem to be a double meaning to honoring her university and as an allusion to Medusa, according to Emily Cotton Top. Some of the critics of the photo said:

FAMU has since released a statement on Twitter that read, “Vice President of Student Affairs William Hudson, Jr., Ph.D., said, ‘The university is aware of the picture taken and is currently investigating the incident.”

Williams earned a master’s in counselor education, wrote in another post on her Instagram that she has gotten thousands of dollars worth of scholarships, held a 3.8 GPA, awarded a graduate fellowship, became a mentor, and will now be joining the two percent of Black therapists in the nation.
