First-Generation College Student Graduates From Harvard Law School

24-year-old Derrick Parker has recently graduated from Harvard Law School. The Kansas City, Missouri native made the announcement on his Facebook page.

While at Harvard, Parker served on the executive board of the Black Law Students Association. Along with being a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau where he represented  clients in civil matters in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts courts.

Parker is a first-generation college student earned his Bachelor’s degree at Morehouse College where he graduated as valedictorian in 2018.

While in school Parker interned at Dla Piper Global Law Firm, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, the United States House Of Representatives, and Bank America according to Black News.
