Billie Eilish Graces The Cover Of British Vogue To Speak On Body Positivity & New Music

Roomies, most of us might remember Billie Eilish from when she claimed viral fame at just 13 years old. Her stake in the music industry came with the banger “Ocean Eyes,” which she recorded with her older brother Finneas O’Connell. Now, longtime fans have the opportunity to see the mega star in a much different light than those years back. Billie recently graced the cover of British Vogue’s June issue looking like a meal and then some.

According to the UK magazine, the 19-year-old collaborated closely with Vogue’s team to bring the shoot’s look to life. Among her teammates were lead stylist Dena Giannini and photographer Craig McDean. Along with the captivating visuals, Billie sat down for an interview with writer Laura Snapes.

In the official cover photo, Billie is centered in the frame against a mauve-colored, plain backdrop. She looks straight ahead with her chin held high, while her hands rest on her thighs in a way that accentuates her body shape. Billie’s blonde hair is a contrast to her typical black-and-lime-green tresses. Still, it is styled elegantly in the traditional wavy look of historic pin-up girls. Her hair is credited to Benjamin of @salonbenjamin on Instagram. British Vogue reports it took “four dye sessions” to achieve the look. Billie revealed to the magazine that she expected the new hair “to suck,” but was surprised by another outcome.

“I feel more like a woman, somehow,” Billie said.

Her make-up is a light beat that highlights her green-ish eyes and brown eyebrows with light pink eyeshadow and nude lipstick. On her body, Billie wears a custom corset and skirt made by Gucci. Her undergarments, such as the bra, is by Agent Provocateur. She accessorizes the look with dainty jewelry and latex-made gloves and thigh-high socks.

The entire vibe is unlike anything she’s ever done before, but her confidence prevails. Since she is known for body positivity, Billie takes a moment during the interview to speak on people who might speak ill of the shoot since she’s wearing a corset. She makes it clear that she can do whatever she desires.

“It’s all about what makes you feel good,” Billie said. “If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f**k it – if you feel like you look good, you look good.”

British Vogue’s June issue will hit newsstands on May 7, 2021. Billie’s new album “Happier Than Ever” is expected to drop this summer.
