‘I Wish Them All the Best’: Tami Roman Shares How She’s Tapped Out of ‘Basketball Wives’

Tami Roman is not checking for “Basketball Wives.”

The ex-reality TV show star recently chatted about exiting the series and admitted that when the reunion aired in October, she did not actually watch it—- or much of the season at all, for that matter.

“I actually didn’t watch the reunion,” Roman tells Human Nature magazine at the premiere of WE TV’s “Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars Family Edition” last month. “I haven’t watched a lot of the show this season in general. I’ve seen clips by way of social media.”

The star added that she “checked out about two years ago, but my contract said ‘B—h, clock in!’ It is what it is. I just think that I’ve run my course.”

Roman added that she heard her name had cropped up on the show — Jennifer Williams had mentioned her in regards to a rumor the women had a hand in spreading about Shaunie O’Neal’s ex last season — but she was confused about why that was the case.

“I don’t know why people continue to mention someone who is not present and available to rebut or defend themselves,” Roman says. “So, for me, I would prefer they keep my name out their mouth. I’ve gone on and I wish them all the best and hopefully, they do the same for me.”

Fans who caught the interview reacted by praising the star for moving away from the VH1 series and exhibiting growth.

“As an Aries I know she is tired asf that y’all just keep asking her about that show. She dgaf”

“I saw tami doing a scene on the district (I believe that’s what it’s called) it was good I’m glad she is doing her thing she’s a come up queen.”

“Tami has changed tremendously and I’m so happy for her! Evelyn needs to take some notes and grow tf up”

“Im happy tami is no longer on the show because she is on to much bigger better and more successful things and im so happy for her in both her career and personal life.”

Roman only appeared in a handful of episodes of “Basketball Wives” in season 8. Up until the spring, it was up in the air whether or not the actress would even return to the show.

“I’m just at a place right now where it’s about protecting my energy and my space and my zen. I have to protect it,” she said to “Entertainment Tonight” in January. “And so, even within the ‘Basketball Wives’ world, if I were to go back, certain changes would have to be made for me to be comfortable in that environment. But we’re still in talks. I don’t necessarily know if I’ll return, but we are talking about how everybody can be comfortable in that environment.”

Roman did return but stayed away from drama and concluded filming before the rest of her castmates. She also skipped the reunion after having a medical emergency due to an allergic reaction.
